College & Career week is coming! During this week we will recognize and celebrate every college/career option (Enroll, Employ, Enlist, Explore) available to our students. We want all students to participate and win prizes!

We take this time to introduce our cafeteria monitors.  Our cafeteria monitors supervise our students during the lunch time and work to keep order and discipline in one of our most concentrated student areas. Ms. Marisol (on the right) has been holding down the fort in the cafeteria on her own all year, and this week we're excited to welcome Ms. Marian (left) to the team! These ladies work hard every day to keep our students safe, happy, and well cared for during lunch.

And a special shoutout to Ms. Hickey for creating their adorable aprons! They look fantastic and are a wonderful way to show our appreciation for these amazing team members. ❤️

In reviewing our scores, we notice that although our 3rd and 5th grade percentages are higher than the district averages at this point of the year, these grade level scores are more than 4 percentage points lower than we were at the beginning of last school year.  Similarly, in ELA we exceed the district averages in all grade levels, but grades 3 and 5 are over 7 percentage points lower than the scores from the start of the previous school year. Data proves we have much work to do to meet the goals we have set for the school year.  Some of you will receive letters regarding some interventions that will be taking place during what we call Bear Cub University or BCU time. This time is set aside in the school day for intervention of skills that may be deficient at this point of the year (below grade level expectations), maintenance for students that are where they need to be at this point of the year, and/or for enrichment for those students that are exceeding grade level benchmarks at this point of the school year.  Should you receive a letter regarding the need for intervention, please take the time to schedule a conference with your child's teacher(s) to go over the areas of need and to receive strategies on how to support these interventions at home.
