We are so proud to see how our kindergarten students have adapted to our school processes and procedures.  It is great to go to these kindergarten classes and see the active engagement of the students as they learn key skills and strategies. It is important that our primary teachers find ways to engage these little ones and keep them focused on the important lessons of the day.  In our primary classrooms, you may see teachers using various strategies to keep students attentive and engaged. This may be through the use of short call-and-response chants, songs, or physical movements that students practice until they can stop and listen quickly. Other ways include the use of real objects, picture cards, anchor charts, and hands-on activities so young learners can process ideas in fun ways. In the following pictures, Ms. Mozroll (kindergarten teacher) used a "Pizza Making" activity to teach students shapes and other grade level math skills. What a fun way for students to learn these skills!
