We have had a great start to our 2026-27 school year, and we are well into Week 2! We have welcomed many new families to NCES, which means that many are still learning our procedures and routines. For our parents/guardians, or any person dropping off students or picking students up, there are many procedures that are extremely important to understand to ensure safety and security on our campus. Please see some reminders of those procedures below.
Student Drop Off
Students drop off begins at 7:50am. There is no available supervision for students dropped off prior to that time. If morning care is needed, please contact us for information for the before care provider program Champions.
Morning Car Lines
There are two distinct car lines that run simultaneously. One of the lines requires you to stay to the left-hand side (for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grades, and separate classrooms), and the other line requires you to stay on the right-hand side (for students in 2nd-5th grades). This allows for adults to better guide students to their proper morning areas before school begins.
The Pre-K-1 line (left lane) closes at 8:10am. At that time, you will continue to drop your child off, but do so at the front of the school.
Please follow the direction of our line director. Although it may seem a bit stern, we are looking out for the safety of our pedestrians and monitoring for a smooth morning drop off process. Not following these procedures can cause confusion, chaos, and potential safety concerns.
*If there are older siblings of Pre-K- 1st grade students, they may stay with their siblings and be dropped off with their YOUNGER sibling.
Afternoon Car Lines
There are two distinct car lines that run simultaneously in the afternoon. Similar to the morning drop off process, one of the lines requires you to stay to the left-hand side (for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grades, and separate classrooms), and the other line requires you to stay on the right-hand side (for students in 2nd-5th grades). Please be in the correct lane when entering the car line.
In the afternoon Pre-K-1 line (left lane), we watch for the traffic at that time and try to keep these students in the area until we see little to no cars remaining. At that time (when there are no further cars entering for pick up or not in the immediate area to call names), remaining students will be brought to the front office for pick up in the office.
Please be sure to remain in your designated pick-up line as you enter the car line. Please do not follow a line just because it seems to be moving faster and jump into your proper line later. This is not safe and is unfair to those that are following procedure. Continual failure to follow these procedures may result in further directives from the principal and/or the School Resource Officer.
We know the first weeks of school may present some challenges, but we thank you all for your patience and your cooperation with these procedures.
