We are officially in the last week of school! We wrapped up all testing and test make-ups. We also celebrated all students who made growth from their last assessments and/or achieved at high levels. This week students will have their field day, and we will hold our final 5th grade promotion ceremony. We thank our whole school community for all you have done to make this an amazing school year!

Celebrations!

We had so much fun celebrating our students last week. Our celebrations included our 5th grade promotion ceremonies. Students enjoyed dance parties, sports challenge, table games, Lego/magnet building, prizes, and snacks. See some pictures of the activities below.

Academic Corner: Wax Museum

Our third-grade teams held a "Wax Museum" activity last week. Students researched a historical figure, created a backdrop, and dressed up as that historical figure. We are thankful to the many parents and family members that came to support this event.

NCES Paw Print Fundraiser!

We will be painting paw prints in the walking pathways this summer as a reminder to our students to continue on this pathway to success. Purchase a paw print for the 26-27 school year and we will personalize it with your student's name! This will be used as a fundraiser for the school to assist with school wide student activities.

Paw prints can be purchased through MySchoolBucks or using the QR code on the flyer below.

Leader in Me Survey

Within these final weeks of school, we will be assessing our progress in academics and all areas of focus from our school improvement plan. One of the areas is our Leader in Me initiative. Our school continues to implement a whole-school transformational process called the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. This idea is rooted in the timeless principles of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® and The 4 Disciplines of Execution®, and transforms classrooms by fostering a culture of school-wide leadership.

Our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and up to participate. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through the weblink below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth. Thank you for your input!
