One Week Before Testing Begins

Welcome to the week before we begin end of year testing!! We have practiced, planned, adjusted, and prepared all year—and now it’s time to perform. This week begins the final 5 weeks of school and FAST testing begins May 5th for 3rd grade and May 6th for K–2 (see the schedule below). Test time requires focus, execution, and confidence. Please make sure your children are in school and on time. Also, be sure that your children get a good nights rest. We will remind students that there are no cellphone, meta glasses, or other outside technology allowed during testing. We are so excited for students to show what they know and Level Up for testing!

We will engage our teachers, office staff, cafeteria, custodians, etc. Please send your children in bright neon colors this Friday!! Be on the lookout for our social media live posts, clips, videos, and pictures of our exciting motivational event!

Earth Month and Pre-K

Amazing learning is happening in all of our VPK classes! During Earth Day month, our Pre-K blended class has been learning how to love and care for our planet. Our students planted sunflower seeds to take home for Mother’s Day, helped clean up around our school campus, and joyfully released butterflies as part of their metamorphosis lesson! Our pre-K classes are truly the heart and foundation of our school.

Leader in Me Survey

Within these final weeks of school, we will be assessing our progress in academics and all areas of focus from our school improvement plan. One of the areas is our Leader in Me initiative. Our school continues to implement a whole-school transformational process called the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. This idea is rooted in the timeless principles of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® and The 4 Disciplines of Execution®, and transforms classrooms by fostering a culture of school-wide leadership.

Our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and up to participate. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through the weblink below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth. Thank you for your input!

NCES Paw Print Fundraiser!

We will be painting paw prints in the walking pathways this summer as a reminder to our students to continue on this pathway to success. Purchase a paw print for the 26-27 school year and we will personalize it with your student's name! This will be used as a fundraiser for the school to assist with school wide student activities.

Thank you to this family that purchased a paw print last week!!!
