Spring Into the 4th Quarter

As we near the end of the year, we reflect with gratitude on the hard work of our students and staff. Parents, thanks for helping to keep your children focused and for constantly challenging them to do their best. And many thanks to all our wonderful parent volunteers. You have been valued as chaperones, school activity helpers, fundraisers, and the best supporters of school wide programs, performances, and team activities. We appreciate your continued support! We have entered the final stretch of a really great year. As I mentioned in our last newsletter, this is like the “4th quarter” of a sports game where we maintain our intense focus, high energy, and urgency to finish strong. We are excited to enter our final stretch of progress monitoring testing for the year. beginning with our 4th and 5th grade FAST Writing test on Tuesday, March 31st. Our 3rd Grade FAST ELA test and K-2 STAR Reading test begins the week of May 4th. The remaining assessments continue the second and third week of May. It is a busy and fun time of the year for all of us. It is important that our students finish strong and keep “spring fever” to a minimum. We want all of our students to finish the year with success. Please encourage your child to do their very best – right up to the end.

Motivation for Students

As we move into our final quarter, it is important that we keep our students engaged and motivated to do their best. We will begin to advertise the many activities and prizes we have for students that continue to show growth and high achievement. These motivators are for all students from K through 5th grade. See another one of our motivational flyers below.

Annual PTO Color Run a Success!

We had another successful Color Run this past Saturday! It was great to see so many Bear Cub families running, walking, and just having an amazing time around the course. I know I enjoyed spraying color on anyone that passed my station! Special thanks to our PTO and every person that supported this great event! Check out our PTO page for action photos!

Academic Corner: 4th Quarter Instructional Push

Our Bear Cubs are working hard and staying focused until the end. The PM3 assessments are coming up and our teachers are digging into student academic data to see what each student needs to meet the grade level benchmarks for the year. Those benchmarks will be tested on our final PM3 assessment. See some examples of the hard work they are putting in at this time of the school year.
