100th Day of School and Data Review

We are entering the 3rd week of the second semester (Days 100-104). We are at the midpoint of the year- a time when we review our student data and evaluate our next steps to ensure student success. We review our grade level and classroom Wildly Important Goals (W.I.G.S.) and update our data walls to remind us of how far we have come and where we want to go. Please see the following information about why we examine our data and other great things happening at NCES!

Teacher and Student Data Tracking

Teacher and school data tracking is essential for informed decision-making, allowing educators to monitor student progress, personalize instruction, and identify learning gaps in real-time. By analyzing academic and behavioral trends, NCES can implement targeted interventions, improve student outcomes, and increase engagement while optimizing resources. Having students see their growth and review how it relates to bigger goals increases student motivation and investment in learning.
Key Reasons for Data Tracking:
  • Improved Instruction & Personalization: Data enables teachers to quickly identify which students need help and which concepts need reteaching, facilitating personalized learning paths and better engagement.
  • Progress Monitoring & Accountability: Data provides a clear, evidence-based picture of student growth over time, assisting in reaching academic goals and increasing student investment.
  • Behavioral & Attendance Management: We use data to track attendance and behavior, allowing for early intervention to prevent chronic issues and improve student safety.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Administrators use data to identify school-wide trends, inform, and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional strategies.
Below are some ways we track student progress on their WIGS and celebrate student growth throughout the school. Please also see pictures of our grade team analyzing student academic data during their Professional Learning Community (PLC) Data Digging session.

Parent Resource Night (3rd-5th Grade)

Many parents have asked for more information on ways to support students at home with their academics. This may be related to understanding student grade level benchmarks and FAST testing requirements. We would like to invite you to our Parent Resource Nights. These evenings are designed specifically for 3rd-5th grade families to learn about FAST scores, explore sample questions, and receive take-home academic resources. To help us prepare, please RSVP here by Wednesday, January 28th:
