Thanksgiving Challenge Winners

Welcome to another great week! We were so pleased to reward our students for completing the Thanksgiving Challenge last week. Those that completed the challenge in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades were rewarded with an ice cream sundae party. The second part of the reward will take place this week. All students that completed the challenge at 70% or higher will "gift wrap" the principal and assistant principal! Thank you to all families that encouraged their students to complete the challenge. Be on the lookout for information concerning the "Winter Arc" Challenge for winter break.

Beary Merry Winter Fest a Success!!

We want to thank all families and friends that attended our Beary Merry Winter Fest! This fun filled event was a total success with close to 300 people in attendance. Families enjoyed food, fun, games, and a visit with Santa! Thank you for your support as we continue to foster positive school environment and culture through community and family engagement.

12/15, 16, 18 - PBIS Dance Parties 1:30-3:00

12/16- SAC/PTO @ 7:00 am in Media Center

12/17- Oasis Orientation at 3:00 in Media Center

12/22 - Winter Break Begins!

PM2 is Here!

This week, Narcoossee Elementary School students will continue with their second FAST Progress Monitoring (PM2) test. There will be specific test days for each grade level and type of test (reading or math). Please see the testing schedule below for your reference.

Academic Focus- Student Collaboration

Cooperative Learning is the intentional use of student groups to facilitate learning. The five elements considered necessary for successful cooperative learning are:

Positive interdependence (each individual depends on and is accountable to the others)
Individual accountability (each person in the group learns the material)
Promote interaction (group members help one another)
Social skills (leadership, communication)
Group processing (assessing how effectively they are working with one another)

Students at Narcoossee Elementary are provided many opportunities to work collaboratively. See some examples of strategies such as "Think Pair Share" or "Consensus Map" being used in the classrooms pictured below.
