Principal’s Message
Dear Families and Community Members,
Welcome to the 4th quarter! As we near the end of the year, we reflect with gratitude on the hard work of our students and staff. Congratulations to our students who have demonstrated good citizenship, continuous effort, respect for each other, and who have made Narcoossee Elementary School a better place. Thank you to our teachers and support staff for their compassion and commitment to our students. Parents, thanks for helping to keep your children focused and for constantly challenging them to do their best. And many thanks to all our wonderful parent volunteers. You have been valued as chaperones, school activity helpers, fundraisers, and the best supporters of school wide programs, performances, and team activities. We appreciate your support! We have entered the final stretch of a really great year. Like the “4th quarter” of a sports game, we maintain our intense focus, high energy, and urgency to finish strong. We are excited to enter our final stretch of progress monitoring testing for the year. beginning with our 4th and 5th grade FAST Writing test on Tuesday, March 31st. Our 3rd Grade FAST ELA test and K-2 STAR Reading test begins the week of May 4th. The remaining assessments continue the second and third week of May.
Our remaining weeks are also packed full of activities and programs. Our 5th grade final ceremony, when we honor or 5th graders and recognize their upcoming transition to middle school, will take place on May 22nd and May 26th at 9:00am each day. The 5th grade end of year carnival will take place on May 27th and field day for kindergarten and 1st grades will take place on the 26th of May. Field day for 2nd and 3rd grades will take place on the 27th of May. Finally, field days for 4th and 5th grades will take place on May 28th. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss out. Our final SAC and PTO meetings of the year will be held on May 19th at 7:00 am. It is a busy and fun time of the year for all of us. It is important that our students finish strong and keep “spring fever” to a minimum. We want all of our students to finish the year with success. Please encourage your child to do their very best – right up to the end. May 28th is the last day of school for the year.
